A happy failure

So, I did not make it to 50,000 words for novel writing month, but I did make it to 35,000 words, which is a lot of words. Not really success, but not exactly failure either. Plus, I plan on finishing it, so all you groupies can cool your jets, it's coming. I got a way better story out than I thought I would be able to in so short a time, and it was a lot of fun for me, even though it was an additional stressor at an already stressful time.

So, thanks everyone for the really great ideas for plot. I even took the stupid ones (not that any of you would give me stupid ideas, though, right?) and ran with them and I actually liked what happened. I learned a lot and can't wait to apply it to my other projects. And thanks for the comments and encouragement as I wrote. That was as helpful as the plot suggestions.

I'd also like to dedicate The Cowboy Clock to Dave, who cracked the case without ever cracking the book.

I didn't allow myself to read any other books during the month of November, so today I am giving in to the temptation and reading a good cowboy story by Linda Lael Miller. So, if you need me, I'll be in my reading chair.

Oh you'll be finishing alright! I have a special way of annoying people until they do what I need them to do.

Enjoy the good read today, but I will start bugging you about finishing soon.

ps. I request you put the word count back up until it's done. I like to watch the bar graph go up with your progress.

Are you telling me that Dave knows the ending without even reading the story, but an avid reader like myself doesn't have a clue what's going to happen? That's just ridiculous! Either I'm really dense or your husband is way too smart for his own good! (It's probably a bit of both) You just tell Dave that his "kind" (meaning the annoyingly intelligent kind) make me sick!

Misty, you have done a great job with all the things you have taken on with the words, work, wife, church, mom, and novel jobs. I take that Cowboy Clock dedication and say this to Lisa, I don't have a hudge intrest in reading, but I like a good story and Misty did write a great story to share, I just happened to be at the right space and right time

So it is really funny that my childs nakedness is haunting you while you sleep!! haha! FYI she still hates clothes and has passed on the trend of being naked to Hope! Must be a genetic thing.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your work...you must know, you've made it seem too easy. Like now I think I could go write a book, but then I remember, I suck at writing. I'll leave it to those that have the talent, like you of course!!

So I'm thinking you should have Soyer(spell?) Brown be playing at the county fair on accont of he's the sherrifs cousin or something.

Well I aint first class but I aint white trash. Im wild and a little crazy too. Some girls don't like boys like me, oh but some girls do.

Sawyer. That's a great idea! Sawyer Brown is good anywhere!

Funny, that is exactly what I pictured him looking like. I just looked him up on Wikipedia, and yes...that's him.

Glad to hear he is still alive and well.
