A happy failure
So, I did not make it to 50,000 words for novel writing month, but I did make it to 35,000 words, which is a lot of words. Not really success, but not exactly failure either. Plus, I plan on finishing it, so all you groupies can cool your jets, it's coming. I got a way better story out than I thought I would be able to in so short a time, and it was a lot of fun for me, even though it was an additional stressor at an already stressful time.
So, thanks everyone for the really great ideas for plot. I even took the stupid ones (not that any of you would give me stupid ideas, though, right?) and ran with them and I actually liked what happened. I learned a lot and can't wait to apply it to my other projects. And thanks for the comments and encouragement as I wrote. That was as helpful as the plot suggestions.
I'd also like to dedicate The Cowboy Clock to Dave, who cracked the case without ever cracking the book.
I didn't allow myself to read any other books during the month of November, so today I am giving in to the temptation and reading a good cowboy story by Linda Lael Miller. So, if you need me, I'll be in my reading chair.
