National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo

I stumbled across this website through Feminist Mormon Housewives and it sounded interesting so I went to check it out. It still sounded interesting so I thought I might give it a try. And then I thought, "There is no try, only do." So then I thought I would do it.

I think that everyone should do this with me. Yes, that includes you. You know who you are.

The National Novel Writing Month people have this program where you start on a book Nov. 1 and finish it by Nov. 30. The idea is not to write good, but to write much. The point is not to get published, but to get done. See where they're going with this?

What is the point, you ask? To set a goal and finish it. To "build without tearing down." To create without revising. Art for art's sake! Do you hear me, Kristin? Art for art's sake! That's what their website said, and so, as I am a supporter of art for art's sake, there being no other reason for art, I am going to write 50,000 words in the next thirty days.

Who wins? What's the prize? Everyone who writes 50,000 words wins. The prize is a web badge you can post on your blog bragging that you did it. Sweet, huh?

What? I'm down...Art for arts sake, I get it. I'm on board, you gril! Setting an accomplish goals, you know I like to hear that.

Can't wait to read all 50,000 unrevised words. You know I think your work is Mary Poppins... Practically Perfect in everyway, and with out trying that hard.

what I meant to say was "you go gril!" Sorry about that revision. I know you are not into that this month.

I'm going to try too! I've been thinking of writing a novel for a VERY long time and I even have an outline, so here goes! Good motivator!
